OverDrive Advantage

In late 2013, all libraries within the South Central Library System agreed to contribute toward the OverDrive Advantage program. Annually a total of $20,000 is allocated for this program, which supplements what is available through Wisconsin's Digital Library.

The average cost of a popular title is $60, which allows for the purchase of approximately 21 copies each month. We will purchase a maximum of 10 copies for each title.

The selection committee will use the Purchase Alert Report to find the most popular titles, but audiobooks won't be purchased. The committee will concentrate on purchasing duplicate items to offset holds for SCLS patrons. Members of the selection committee are: Heidi Cox, E.D. Locke Public Library (McFarland); Beth Price, Madison Public Library; and Kathy Baker, Marshfield Public Library.

These criteria will be reviewed quarterly and will be adjusted when needed.
