  4. Other discussion
    1. Review impact on delivery of changes made to the start time of some routes in September.
    2. Discuss how delivery will be serving MPL Central during its move to two temporary quarters and after MPL Central opens to the public at its temporary location in downtown Madison.
    3. Discuss status of Materials Handling Work Group and get feedback from committee about best way to move forward on remaining work of this group.  Background information:
      1. The work of the group was parked while Koha was implemented and continued to stay parked over the summer while delivery implemented its route and staffing changes. There were 7 volunteers for this work group: two of the work group members have since retired and two of the work group members are on the Delivery Committee.
      2. The group had three areas of work. 1) Look at ways to improve the efficiency of how materials are handled between delivery and member libraries. This was addressed by the work group and testing of different levels of sorting between delivery and some test libraries happened. Moving this forward to more libraries is what was parked while Koha was implemented. 2) Study material handling processes in libraries to develop best practices. 3) Investigate efficiencies and cost effectiveness of libraries that implement Automated Materials Handling.

  5. Next meeting: October Tentative date - January 10, 2012 at SCA
    1. Welcome of any new committee members
    2. Materials Handling Work Group update
    3. Discussion of potential future delivery service options should delivery volume continue to trend downward. Information of delivery volume and delivery frequency to libraries will be provided to committee with January call to agenda.

  6. Meeting Evaluation
