Guidelines for graphic services

SCLS will provide libraries with a home page upon request. Please contact Deb Haeffner to determine what web pages can be created and to discuss related maintenance of those web pages.

Newsletters

Libraries provide camera ready copy. SCLS will layout newsletters if information is provided on disk. The library is responsible for editing and final proofing of newsletter. SCLS prints and charges back to libraries.

Forms

SCLS designs and prints forms and charges back to libraries for the printing. SCLS pays for system ILL forms and surveys.

Other materials

Up to 2,000 copies of all other graphics materials will be provided to member libraries. Bookmarks and half sheets are counted per sheet. Quantities exceeding this limit will be charged back to the libraries per Madison Public Library printing costs.

Special Orders

Special orders include logos, invitations, business cards, stationery/letterhead, signs, posters, cut-outs, etc. Libraries are not charged for printing or editing and design services, but they may be charged for materials for labor intensive projects such as large signs or posters.

Summer Library Program materials

Flyers: SCLS will design and print up to 200 standard format flyers.
Brochures: SCLS will design and print up to 1,500 standard format brochures. Libraries will be charged for the printing of any brochures over that total.
Non Standard Items: Libraries will be charged for all non-standard items other than those with only slight variations.
Coloring Sheets: 1,000 standard coloring sheets will be provided free of charge. No orders exceeding this limit will be accepted due to limited paper supplies and press time.

Color printing

20¢/sheet for one-side copies; 40¢/sheet for two-sided copies.

All orders will be filled on a can do basis, as time and resources permit. In all cases, we advise librarians to calculate their needs closely in order to conserve paper.
