Transition to OCLC:
What this means
Now that we have
moved to OCLC for Interlibrary Loan, the following describe how we conduct ILL:
- Madison ILL uses OCLC as the primary method for lending and borrowing, as
Clearinghouse for SCLS.
- Madison ILL no longer accepts requests for materials via WISCAT.
- LINK will continue to provide holdings records to WISCAT.
- Madison ILL will accept requests from Wisconsin libraries, sent via OCLC
or ALA form.
- Madison ILL will accept requests from Reference and Loan, sent via OCLC,
on behalf of Wisconsin libraries who do not have access to OCLC.
- For material only available at Reference and Loan, Madison ILL will refer
requests for SCLS libraries to Reference and Loan via OCLC.
- Any SCLS libraries that prefer to continue to use WISCAT independently are
welcome to do so. They began paying for their own licenses, beginning in 2005.
For more information about Interlibrary Loan, contact Cheryl
Becker.
