Services

Recognizing the importance of professional development opportunities for its membership, MALC annually sponsors two scholarships that provide funds for non-public library staff to attend library-related educational programs and conferences. These awards can be used to meet the expenses associated with meetings, workshops, courses, conferences or other activities which promote professional growth.

Job shadowing is an opportunity for SCLS member library professional and paraprofessional staff to gain first-hand knowledge in library work.  Please read the Job Shadowing Guidelines for more information.

The MALC (Multitype Advisory Library Committee) email List, an open subscription list, has been in existence since January 1998. The committee encourages you to subscribe to receive general announcements on continuing education and multitype activities, job opportunities and to post questions that seek information or open a discussion on a particular concern/issue. You can join the MALC email list on the Multitype Library Services email list.
