Accessing the Genealogy Databases

Below is some information about accessing our genealogy databases, Ancestry Library and HeritageQuest. It includes information on how to access from within the library and how patrons access the products from home.

Access from within the library

• From LINK, Marshfield, or Portage County Central computers:

o HeritageQuest: Visit the SCLS Reference Databases page.

o Ancestry Library: Visit the SCLS Reference Databases page.

• From other computers:

o HeritageQuest: Visit the SCLS Reference Databases page and enter a LINK, Marshfield, or Portage County barcode. It may be possible to allow access from these computers without entering a barcode. Please contact me if you are interested.

oAncestry Library: A special link to Ancestry Library needs to be created from a bookmark list, the desktop, or from a web page that is for in-library use only. Contact Stef Morrill for more information.

Access from home

• HeritageQuest: Visit the SCLS Reference Databases page and enter a LINK, Marshfield, or Portage County barcode.

• Ancestry Library: Access to this database from home is not permitted.
