Information for Wellness

These online information resources can help you find the reliable answers you need. All you need is a library card to access most of them from home because they’re made available by your public library, the South Central Library System, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) through the BadgerLink project, and LSTA funding through the Institute of Museum and Library Services. As an added bonus you also can turn to a librarian for additional help at your public library, or by using AskAway to chat with a librarian 24 hours a day.

You also can find information on specific conditions and diseases by searching the full text of thousands of books in netLibrary which inludes many health reference titles. Q -- “I want to begin an exercise program that includes yoga and aerobics. How should I begin, and what should I consider?

A -- EBSCOHost's magazine article database will have articles on yoga and aerobics. netLibrary and OverDrive also include many fitness and nutrition titles.

Q -- “I heard about a new diet on television. Do you have more information about it?”

A -- EBSCOHost's magazine article database will have recent articles on new diets. netLibrary and OverDrive also include many popular fitness and nutrition titles.

Q -- “I need current information on fibromyalgia -- specifically causes and promising treatment.”
