Public performance videos are licensed for group viewing, such as during library story times and other programs. SCLS has an extensive list of public performance videos that are housed at and managed by the Madison Public Library.
This collection supports the programming efforts of public libraries. It is intended to work as a self-booking system. Libraries may change due dates to the day after they are needed and hold the videos until the day after their program. Changing due dates is only appropriate for this collection and it should not be used for regular LINK items.
If a public library wants a video that is already on hold, they can check the due date to determine approximately when the library holding the item intends to use it. The two libraries can work out a temporary loan if a library wants the video before the other library needs to use it.
Day care centers may use the collection if
their local library is willing to place holds for them. Libraries decide
if they want to distribute the information to their day care centers.
To see the most current annotations, including the length
of running time for the videos and the age suggestions, go to the SCLS
Youth Services web page at: http://www.scls.lib.wi.us/sca/videos/index.html
To place holds on public performance videos, see the instructions (SCLS member libraries only).
