Action items:

a.   Approve ILS Committee recommendation on RFID Initiative:

The ILS Committee recommends an initiative to support the conversion to RFID of the materials of all SCLS libraries within seven years for the purposes of increasing the efficiency of resource sharing. This is in support of an existing policy: "Non-RFID libraries allow other libraries to place RFID tags in items received to fill holds .Tag insertion by RFID libraries is voluntary". South Central Library System intends to support the initiative by implementing the use of RFID in automating its system-wide delivery service.

                                                    i.     Motion: A. Barnett moved approval of the ILS recommendation on RFID initiative.  W. Rawson seconded

Items from clusters for initial discussion:  Jill Porter will be the AC representative for Wood County

Other Discussion:
Libraries Bounce Back Page:  M. Van Pelt noted SCLS has received several questions about this page and some libraries have requested very specific information be added.  The intent of the page is to capture the “big picture” of the current status of libraries and it is a tool for libraries, not a source for library patrons.  Patrons should be going to their libraries website for specific details.  Several AC members agreed that the page is not a place for specific details and it is fine the way it has been created.  SCLS will keep the page as is and Mark Ibach will provide any clarification needed.

Thank you to departing representatives:  Erin Foley, Angela Noel, and Andy Barnett
