Reports of action of committees/workgroups

a. Delivery Committee- Met 8/10/2023.  You may view the action items and details in the minutes of the last meeting online.  C. Baumann noted the cart supply is low.  A reminder is being sent to libraries to assist in returning any carts that libraries may be keeping on hand.  Please don’t use the carts for anything but the red bins.  A quote has been received for new carts, but the cost has increased by 20%.  20 new carts (which is the minimum order) is $6,500 and that doesn’t include the caster wheels that need to be put on the carts at an additional $2,000.

b. ILS Committee – Met 8/2/2023.  You may view the action items and details in the minutes of the last meeting online as well as the ILS report.

c. Technology Committee – Met 8/2/2023.  You may view the action items and details in the minutes of the last meeting online as well as the Technology Report.

d. Consultants: You may view the report in the AC documents online.

e. Library Innovation Subcommittee:   Did not meet.  Will meet in October. You may view the action items and details in the minutes of the last meeting online.

f. Building Update:  M. Van Pelt noted hybrid meetings will begin in October, so folks may attend meetings in the new building as well as online.  The professional collection will be available on 9/24/2023 and new books have been ordered for the collection.  SCLS will not have electricity for a couple of days at the end of October so staff will be working remotely.  A generator will be used for the data center while we connect to the main power source.  The landscaping around the building has begun and the parking lot is being paved as well.

Items from clusters for initial discussion:  None

Discussion:  November All Directors – SCLS is planning on hosting the meeting at Pankratz with tours, demos, get to know new directors, and department updates.  We had a CE at the July All Directors.  Is there anything directors are interested in for the meeting?  Directors liked the idea of the tours and demos and did not want a CE. Keller will provide food for the meeting and will be available for questions that day.

Next meeting: AC Meeting –10/19/2023; All Directors – 11/16/2023; AC meeting – 12/21/2023
