4.      Discussion items:

a.      Delivery Update

                                                              i.      Move-in update:  Delivery moved into the Pankratz building over the MLK Holiday weekend as planned.  The move came with very little time to set-up racking and organization due to the occupancy not being secured until about a week prior.  Delivery operated as scheduled on January 11 and transitioned the next day fully over to Pankratz.

ii.      Problems to solve:  We are still coordinating our space to best utilize our assets and work in the most efficient and safe way possible.  Each day gets closer to those objectives.  Labeling and unpacking is an ongoing effort and we still have some organizing to do to get to our final set-up.

1.      Our routes are still in a state of evaluation.  We are finding that our downtown and west-side routes are struggling to meet our expectations of return time beyond even allowing for the increased distances.  We will be looking at ways to pair up libraries along the way to that side of town to better achieve volume returns in a reasonable time.  Part of the problem is ramping up our new staff and part of it is seeing that the commute through the isthmus is much worse than we expected.

b.      Staffing Update

                                                              i.      Significant transition:  Since our last DC meeting, we had been informed that Brinnan Shaffer was resigning her position alongside the move to Pankratz.  This made the moving process and the transition more challenging as we were already down a pair of full-time staff members and the coordination help for the move would have help a lot.

ii.      3 members of our full-time staff were promoted to Supervisor.  Carl Stratman, Rick Streed, and Doug Wilson all were offered and accepted positions to advance our coverage of key areas.

iii.      Additionally, over the course of about a month, we added 3 new full-time staff members:  Brian Kelley, Ivan Abarca, and Billy Harwell have joined our team to finally get us back to our staffing levels for full time.

iv.      We are also actively addressing our part-time staff.  We have added two new part-time staff members (Scott Maurer & Mike Goeden) and are seeking a few more.  That, coupled with the return of some part-time staff who have been out on leave, will enhance our ability to complete our daily activities much like we did as we closed out the Gilson Street facility
