10:09:18 From Jennifer Way : Does each library have to apply or is SCLS appyign for all? 10:09:53 From Jean Anderson : I'll share my screen with the document that Marty sent out. 10:11:37 From LARRY OATHOUT : Would hybrid include updated AV equipment to do virtual and hyvrid programs? 10:15:51 From Ryan Claringbole : Does candy fall under “work/life balance needs”? 10:16:01 From Steev Baker : Can you repeat those Jean?! 10:16:31 From LARRY OATHOUT : And pony rides, Ryan 10:16:33 From Bailey Anderson : @Ryan these are the real questions 10:17:16 From Vicki Teal Lovely : @Ryan 😍 10:26:07 From tracy herold to Jean Anderson(Direct Message) : Hi Jean, what about the Dane County Ripple Intern Program? This ticks quite a few boxes... 10:26:56 From Erick Plumb : That's... quite the process 😲 10:27:03 From Jean Anderson to tracy herold(Direct Message) : I think it's worth a shot! 10:27:47 From Ryan Claringbole : I feel like I’m in the matrix 10:28:05 From Jean Anderson : Agreed @ryan! 10:31:36 From JoAnn Ogreenc : Read it 10:36:27 From LARRY OATHOUT : EXtend Beanstack. We have it through 23 so not sure if it fit the criteria 10:36:31 From Bailey Anderson : I love the LibraryAware idea! 10:36:49 From JoAnn Ogreenc : What categories do you see these falling under? 10:36:53 From Heidi Cox : If we purchase databases or online services, how will they be paid for moving forward? 10:37:12 From Heidi Cox : We have LibraryAware and it's about $1000 a year. 10:38:22 From Andy Barnett : Banners or maybe the upright flags like https://www.amazon.com/advertising-flags/s?k=advertising+flags 10:39:52 From Steev Baker : How does Kanopy being owned by Overdrive change that service? Do we know? 10:40:20 From LISA THOMAS : Would conversion of existing plumbing fixtures to touchless qualify? (Wondering if it would be considered construction). 10:41:40 From JoAnn Ogreenc : Library bikes 10:41:41 From Susan Lee : MPL is looking into hybrid/shared community spaces with other City agencies like IT which would allow patrons to participate in City meetings, pay taxes, etc. Sort of a one-stop shop. 10:43:49 From Andy Barnett to Jean Anderson(Direct Message) : Group Zoom microphones and speakers, since setups can be complicated and we all need them. 10:43:58 From Bailey Anderson : What about outreach equipment for libraries and equipment for outdoor programs like amps, mics, banners, tents, etc? 10:44:00 From JoAnn Ogreenc : System wide meeting room/equipment reservation software 10:44:47 From Ryan Claringbole : Mobile standing desks/kiosks for libraries (plexiglass addition optional) 10:45:21 From Bailey Anderson : Zoom licenses might also be useful 10:45:27 From Andrea Halbersma : LOVE the mobile standing desk idea! 10:45:53 From Ryan Claringbole : Maybe LCD screens then? Problem with outdoor screening is you can’t show them until sun goes down which means winter films which means frostbite 10:46:14 From JoAnn Ogreenc : Yup 10:46:40 From Debbie Bird : In order to be collaborative, does everyone have to focus on a particular theme? or could a county collaboration of multiple projects still be considered collaborative? 10:46:49 From LISA THOMAS : Permanent/nice plexiglass barriers for circ desks (many of us still using cobble-jobs). 10:46:54 From LARRY OATHOUT : Interior message boards 10:47:55 From Andrea Halbersma : Would SCLS be able to set up meetings between County directors to chat about these things? 10:48:17 From LARRY OATHOUT : yes 10:49:08 From Debbie Bird : AWE Learning units 10:49:19 From JoAnn Ogreenc : Rotating Makerspace/creative program equipment 10:49:57 From JoAnn Ogreenc : Spinning wheels, 10:50:18 From Steev Baker : What about COVID tests that people can pick up? We had a patron asking about them today. 10:50:19 From Kristie Nielson Corning : Would participation in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library qualify? 10:52:19 From Kristie Nielson Corning : Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. 10:52:38 From Erin Foley : I'm really hoping for non-digital grant proposals. Is there any way to divide up the ideas so that there are some that either provide internet (hotspots, but without filtering), or provide furniture or equipment (lockers) 10:52:59 From Steev Baker : I know we all like databases, but I think it would be better to get stuff/things rather than leasing access to digital things that we have to pay for after the grant deadline 10:53:18 From Roxanne Staveness : The challenge is how do we sustain some of these ideas when the grant money runs out. 10:53:19 From Andrea Halbersma : I agree with Erin and Steev 10:53:31 From Erin Foley : Adams County just does not have digital access in the county except from the Library. 10:53:46 From Ryan Claringbole : I agree w/ no databases due to inability to sustain the cost 10:54:32 From Wendy Rawson : I agree- patrons will be so let down if we get a bunch of databases and then take them away. 10:55:14 From Erin Foley : Yes, Vicki, I know that. But it's the only way to help my patrons without internet. 10:55:30 From Roxanne Staveness : What about Playaways or launchpads? 10:56:01 From Wendy Rawson : VOX books? 10:56:33 From LARRY OATHOUT : VOX books are extremely popular for us 10:57:01 From Ryan Claringbole : Same re VOX 10:57:12 From JoAnn Ogreenc : USB charging stations with multiple connection types 10:57:36 From Heidi Cox : The Envisionware Tablet station which would allow tablets to be checked out to patrons in the library. 10:58:10 From Heidi Cox : Yes it charges 10:58:44 From Ryan Claringbole : Need to leave at 11 10:58:46 From Bailey Anderson : I can stay until 11:30 10:59:08 From Jean Anderson : Here's the link to the Jamboard again: https://jamboard.google.com/d/1AtqRdNXGLGcD0kYk8-nuLgJcCFDMf77NrR3xsW7Fo7k/edit?usp=sharing 10:59:49 From Vicki Teal Lovely : I am willing to do some informational sessions on E-rate, CIPA and filtering. Libraries typically have a year from the grant start to become CIPA compliant. Becoming CIPA compliant does open some doors to use these grant funds for mobile hotspots, etc. Filtering is pretty unobtrusive (blocks pornography only). 10:59:55 From Jodi Bailey : I have to leave at 11:00. Thanks for this great information! 11:00:13 From Jean Anderson : I am recording so you can catch up on the recording later. Thanks all! 11:04:36 From LARRY OATHOUT to Jean Anderson(Direct Message) : I have a scheduled errand to run, so I'm taking off. Have a fun weekend! 11:04:44 From Jean Anderson to LARRY OATHOUT(Direct Message) : Thanks Larry, you too! 11:11:59 From Susan Lee : Thank you! 11:12:03 From Bailey Anderson : Thanks! 11:12:04 From Wendy Rawson : Thanks! 11:12:07 From Kristie Nielson Corning : Thank you!!!
