3.      Action items:

a.      Review Lending Policy

                                                              i.      Discussion: 1 week checkout period for DVD for non-LINKcat libraries is not practical with delivery time included. By the time the library receives the item, it is time to return it (Diane at STP). Cindy (Sun) suggested that those loan periods (DVD) should be extended by a week.

ii.      Jean will check with Natalie at Marshfield about their experience with DVD loans and with Heidi Oliversen on the next steps.

iii.      Once questions are answered, Jean will update the Lending Policy and send to Committee to review before next steps.

4.      Discussion items

a.      OLL Update: Kathy Wolkoff

                                                              i.      Most, but not all, libraries across the country are closed. No ILLiad access right now. May be able to restore some limited service if they can restore ILLiad access.

ii.      Consensus nationally is to hold onto returns. In most cases, there is no one at the library. No bills, no overdue notices, etc. The best thing to do is to hold onto the items. If you can report things returned, that’s great. But Madison doesn’t have access to ILLiad so they can’t update it.

iii.      National Emergency Library – they’ve removed wait limits temporarily. Some authors and publishers have pushed back on this.

b.      ILL/OLL Basics Workshop, July 10, 2020

                                                              i.      Will be held at SCLS Headquarters. Registration is open.

c.       Bibliovation Migration impact on ILL/OLL

                                                              i.      Other than fast adds defaulting to ACL, it hasn’t been too bad (at least before the closure)

d.      Cornavirus – how are libraries doing during the pandemic and library closures?

                                                              i.      Discussion of how libraries and staff are doing.

5.      Plan for next meeting: October 20, 2020 at SCLS Headquarters and GoToMeeting

a.      Review Lending Policy (if needed)

6.      Adjournment:  10:47 a.m.
